  Flinders Island is situated within a scattering of 52 islands, Called the Furneaux Group, situated between Wilson's
  Promontory in Victoria and Cape Portland in the North-East Tasmania.

  The Furneaux Group, described as 'Where the mountains meet the sea', has a mild maritime climate
even though it is subject to the famous 'Roaring Forties'.

Flinders Island has about 900 residents with a land area of 1,333 square kilometres.
The Island is 75 kilometres long and 40 kilometres wide, with 75klms of sealed roads
and 312 klms of gravel roads. Three main population centres are located at Whitemark, 
Lady Barron and Killiecrankie.

Golf & Bowls Tours

 
Flinders Island Sports & RSL Club. Be challenged at Royal Flinders 9 hole Links Golf Course, has only been parred
once in its 40 year history. Flinders Island Annual Golf Tournament is held on the June long weekend annually.

 Lady Barron is the birthing point for the trading vessels Mathew Flinders and Southern Condor
operated by Furneaux Freight from Bridport. A new vessel, that will carry passengers is under construction.
